Business Services-Payroll invites applications for a Payroll Analyst to oversee the end-to-end processing of bi-weekly and student payrolls, ensuring adherence to established timelines and compliance with relevant laws and policies.

- Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate, review, and distribute payroll reports to ensure data accuracy and support payroll validation processes
- Analyze payroll system logs and reports to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data, accounting, and processing discrepancies
- Support payroll compliance by validating payroll transactions, maintaining production records, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
- Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and coordinate corrective adjustments to maintain accurate financial record
- Operate and troubleshoot payroll systems, including Banner, WinSCP, and UC4, to ensure efficient and uninterrupted payroll operations
- Manage ACH and direct deposit transactions, resolve payment issues, and assist with required reporting to external agencies and benefit vendors
- Maintain payroll procedures, provide backup support for payroll staff, and perform additional payroll and accounting duties as needed
- Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma and two (2) years of directly related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review transactions, identify errors, and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Proficiency in using complex payroll and accounting systems, with the capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential payroll information
- Ability to manage frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain accuracy while interacting with employees and addressing time-sensitive issues
- Experience in developing and maintaining spreadsheets and reports for tracking, analyzing, and reconciling payroll data
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills to investigate and resolve payroll-related discrepancies efficiently
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or a related field
- Minimum of two (2) year of payroll experience, preferably in a higher education or public-sector environment
- Experience with Banner or similar Enterprise Resource Planning systems

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year
Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
